I just had a look at the newest rulebook and I haven’t seen any changes made to the Roder Family. Just to be clear (because I’m basing my choice of faction on this), there is no interest by the GMs to consider the above proposal I submitted? Because I don’t anticipate there will be much interest in playing the Roder as described in the rulebook. This was a problem in previous versions of the game.
So will there be changes to the Roder Family goals, description, ranks, etc.? Or will it be continuing as is? Just looking for clarification. Thanks.
You dropped your wooden leg and eyepatch over there. I’m sure your parrot will fly back soon. 😉
Yeah, Jorge, they sound like a great faction….
for your pirates to raid. :p
Got it. Happy to just run this beta clan/city for now 🙂
Is there still time to send in our old clans and request a starting location? Also, what was decided about restoring the old clans we had turns for? Can we beta more than 1 clan or is it just 1 for now?
I was always roleplaying on a more political level but really had a challenge making special actions work for me. I think I just didn’t get the knack for carrying on a storyline more than “I’ll ask X character for info on Y” and then get back 1 line in response. I think I just lost patience with it because it went so slow from turn to turn.
Maybe a clan declaring for Gift religion gets a mancycle bonus to building or a Ring religion clan gets info/spy bonus? Just spitballing here…
Damn, Penn, you sure had a bunch of interesting stuff happen to you in the game. I need to know your secret. :p
I vote for limiting the number of factions a player can play in to 2 or 3. I say this a as a person who played many different factions in 2 different versions. I just think starting out that would be the best way to go. ESPECIALLY if senior positions are in the mix.
And honestly, if I play a clan in a secular faction, I see no advantage at all to declaring a religion for that clan. That would just be a giant mess (as it was in the US game with a few secular clans obviously supporting their religious cousins to the detriment of their own secular faction). I guess you can have that option open if you want but I’d never use it.

It might have been part of the SOA at some point but by the time I was running one, it was a faction with a senior and everything (though he was on the down low and not sure that was common knowledge). But my clan had “Brotherhood” listed as his faction.
There was the Brotherhood in the US game. That was the organized crime faction. I ran a clan in the Brotherhood. Would like to see it run again.
Penn, I saw a post from Jerre. He registered under his old clan name, Davod Skolem.
With no SOA or MV, that means there won’t be a land mercenary faction? Or will the mercs and merc armies all be Independents clans?
