      SEEKERS of Knowledge Religion

The Seekers of Knowledge Religion worships the Old Gods that the people of Midgard and Kalmar still believe in and in many cases still worship. The Pantheon of the Old Gods consisted on (8) Gods/Goddess that were all equal in power within the Pantheon. The ONE True God followed by the Banner, Gift and Ring was one of the Old Gods, and so was MOORLOCK, followed by the Cult of the Dark One, Blood and Fire and Serkeanar. The Seekers venerate all of the Old Gods equally, setting none above the others. Their faith is to all the OLD Gods equally to pursue their quest for Knowledge of all kinds.

      The Seeker Motto:

Draw upon the Book of Knowledge
      to Illuminate the Darkness
that the sons of man and
      daughters of woman might see.
      Seeing, Illuminate the Darkness
for thy brethren and bring the light
      of civilization into the corners
      of the world.

History says in the great Book of Knowledge:

Days before the great catastrophe, many skilled in the arcane arts foretold the doom of the island city of Valspar. Then the men of science did indeed see their doom rushing toward them.

Time and time again, calculations were checked and rechecked, but the answers were all the same, the great city of Valspar, center of culture and learning, was doomed.

Thus, began the great exodus, many of Valspar sailing away that very day, even though it would be weeks before the huge rock would arrive. But the High Council of Librarians, decided to try and save as much of the great Library as they could.
They bought what few ships remained. They loaded the ships with the contents from the Great Library and decided to stay there to the last, securing whatever they could to rafts made of remaining available materials once the purchased ships were filled. Then, sealed in waterproof containers were years of secret knowledge.
Then the skies darkened and with a thunderous BANG! The island of Valspar was no more. A thousand years of culture and knowledge gone in the blink of an eye. The great Library of Valspar was gone and so was the city and any who made the great sacrifice to remain behind to make sure as many books and scrolls as possible were prepared and loaded onto anything seaworthy.

The people of world were thrown from their feet. Waves taller than the greatest building in the land swept over them. Lives were lost, cities crumpled, and some were completely washed away.

Now the few descendants from Valspar, sons of the high council members, have taking up where their fathers left off. They have started a gathering of likeminded souls to rebuild and then even surpass what was once lost.

      The Seekers have awakened……..

Three bonuses from a single tower? the rulebook has one, looks like the % jumps from 1% to 2%

These repositories of knowledge are used by the Seeker Faction to document and archive all manner of information. Each houses a comprehensive library of books and scrolls, which if used properly will increase the literacy of future generations. They are a great resource for anyone inclined to use them and are freely available to members of any Faction. They can also be used to locate trainers in a variety of skills (1% chance per tower) and may even attract such people to a city.

From the system perspective; a Seeker tower gives a plus to a research attempted via a special action.

      The great Asteroid Strike…
The great Asteroid strike that rocked the world

History from the Book of Knowledge:

The skies grew dark and a great ball of glowing red light steaked across the skies heading south over Midgard. It seemed to hit the sea south of Midgard and north of Kalmar. At the point of impact, everyone was thrown off their feet. After the strike great waves came crashing inland and swept over the lands of Midgard. Many cities in the south were simply swept away. Meanwhile great earth quakes were felt across the lands everywhere and many cities were reduced to rubble and/or burned to the ground. Then those that managed to survive that had to endure a great long winter that lasted two years, leaving many to die from the elements or famine. Much was lost and most people just tried to survive. That was from the times of our forefathers, and now people have started to reform and rebuild from the ruins of the past. Some of the former political organizations have reformed again and have started to via for political control of the lands once again. The Imperial Kingdom invaders, and three great Midgard native Families of; the Boda, the Getham and the Roder. Also some religions sects have reformed as well; The Banner, The Gift, The Ring, The Cult of the Dark One, and the Seekers of Knowledge. It is said that still other Kingdoms have also come into existence like: The Cymru – People’s Defenders, and the Sea Wolves. Still their are rumored of Other Kingdomes that also have started up or come into existence but at this point they just seem to be rumors.

Yes, I know your passionate Penn, but really. The above is certainly slanted towards factions you have had a great deal invested in.

You mention The Cymru – People’s Defenders. That immediately conjures up in peoples mind that these must be good guys, aka paladins. There may well be a sprinkling of semi-paladins amongst them, but most would be like almost every soldier of the time… hungry enough to consider the lot of a soldier retainer to be better than looking at the south bound end of a north bound ox all day.

Divergently, you mention ‘some religions sects’. Putting religion and sect together in the same sentence is fraught with danger. From the Cambridge dictionary…

Sect: “a religious group that has separated from a larger religion and is considered to have extreme or unusual beliefs or customs.”

I certainly would not regards the Gift as having extremist views. Or unusual beliefs given that they are a part of the OTG faith of old Midgard.

My Dear Sir, I am Father Morpheus of the Seekers clan Dreamweaver. I have presented an excerpt from the Great Book of Knowledge. I did not get you name kind sir, what would that be and of what faction are you and of what clan? I think kind sir it might be best if you were to request a Seekers task to build a Seekers Temple. Then accept the task and build one in your local city. Then kind sir you might consider spending some time at the Seekers Tower Temple and do some investigation for yourself. May the Old Gods bless you kind sir.

Father Morpheus sounds like he works in a call center, and is giving away free 30 day trials to Seeker Towers. 🙂

    • #1530

Fine Sir Stephen is it, that is a rather different name? I don’t know what you speak about, a “call center”? Is that some place of health and happiness, I have never heard of such a place here in Kalmar. Is that something new in Midgard? Although we have plans for a new city building type call a “Bath House”. As to 30 days at a Seeker Tower, well Brother you are always welcome to come and learn the True Faiths of the Old Gods at any Seeker Tower Temple. Fear not we will be happy to help you. May the grace of the Old Gods shine on you.

      – Father Morpheus, of the Seekers of Knowledge
